The Cincinnati Reds are going to do that thing again today that they almost always do.
No, no – not break our hearts. I mean, they’ll probably do that, but I’m talking about play a baseball game.
The Reds will attempt to salvage the series against the last place Pittsburgh Pirates in Great American Ball Park on Thursday afternoon after having dropped each of the first two in the series in excruciating fashion. If they do, there’s a chance that they’ll be back in playoff position at day’s end depending on what happens to the New York Mets in Chicago and to the Arizona Diamondbacks in their home game against the Dodgers.
It’s up to Nick Lodolo to keep the Pirate bats quiet, whereas the Cincinnati hitters will try to finally get untracked against Braxton Ashcraft.
