DaRon Bland told NBC production that he will be playing Sunday night.
The Dallas Cowboys are going to play the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night and they are going to need to be at full force to even have a chance at winning.
Such is the case because the Cowboys defense has been a point of weakness, even if the season is only three weeks old. In back-to-back games the Cowboys have looked poor from a passing defense standpoint, and you can make an argument that the reason it isn’t every game this year is because of the lightning delay in Week 1.
For what it’s worth, the Cowboys have also been ravaged by injuries and are notably missing cornerback DaRon Bland. There are still a few days between now and kickoff, but Bland was limited on the initial injury report of the week.
We will see how Bland is listed as injury reports progress, but it is worth noting that he told NBC production he will be playing in the game. Melissa Stark, NBC’s sideline reporter, shared in an interview with 105.3 The Fan that Bland told her specifically that he’ll be playing in the game.
Bland is just one player but would go a long way towards mitigating the damage that we have seen in consecutive weeks. Let’s hope what he told Stark is accurate and that he is indeed out there come Sunday night.
