'College GameDay' announces Week 5 location

ESPN's "College GameDay" will attend a top-five Big Ten clash this weekend shedding their SEC bias for at least one week.

ESPN's Saturday morning pregame show, "College GameDay," is a staple for many college football fans each weekend. The pregame show will be headed to Happy Valley for the No. 5 Oregon Ducks and No. 2 Penn State Nittany Lions.

Perhaps the decision to head to State College surprises some with two marquee SEC games also on the Week 5 docket. No. 16 Alabama visits No. 3 Georgia while No. 4 LSU travels to No. 11 Ole Miss. All three games are worthy of hosting GameDay, but I think they made the best choice by going with the highest-ranked matchup.

Last week, GameDay picked the Florida-Miami game, which turned out to be a relatively uncompetitive matchup with Miami winning 26-7. A Big 12 school has yet to host GameDay or be featured in one of its five matchups.

Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, and Pat McAfee serve as college football experts for GameDay, with a celebrity guest picker also chiming in.

GameDay's coverage will begin at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 27, from Penn State's campus and will be televised on ESPN.

College GameDay 2025 locations

Hosts take their seats for ESPN College GameDay ahead of the University of Oklahoma-Michigan College football game on Sep 6, 2025 in Norman.

  • Week 1: Texas at Ohio State
  • Week 2: Michigan at Oklahoma
  • Week 3: Georgia at Tennessee
  • Week 4: Florida at Miami
  • Week 5: Oregon at Penn State

Where will GameDay go in Week 6?

Week 6 might be the easiest selection the GameDay crew makes the entire season. I am expecting to attend the pregame show for the No. 6 Miami at No. 8 Florida State game, as it is an in-state rivalry and a top-10 showdown. Other possible, albeit unlikely, landing spots include Vanderbilt at Alabama, Texas at Florida, and the Big 12's Texas Tech at Houston.
