The goalscorer fired Barca in front
Robert Lewandowski came off the bench to score as Barcelona beat Real Oviedo 3-1 on Thursday night in La Liga and spoke to the media after the game.
The veteran striker admitted his team had struggled in front of goal early on but says they managed to turn the game around by speeding up the play after the break.
“We know Oviedo has a good football, and I like the way they play. In the first half, we struggled to finish. In the second, we started to play a little faster and were patient. In the end, three goals and a very important victory,” he told the media.
“I had an injury at the end of preseason. It was a little more difficult, and I needed more time to get back into my playing rhythm. I’m patient; there’s no rush. The season is long, and there are a lot of games.
“For me, it’s important to keep playing and keep scoring goals. I feel physically very good. For the team, it’s important that when we have all the players back without injuries, we’re stronger.”
Lewandowski’s header put Barcelona 2-1 up in the match and was his third in La Liga so far from four appearance in 2025-26.
