Can Bucky do it all?

Can Bucky Irving be Buccaneers offensive bell cow? originally appeared on The Sporting News

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving is the epitome of a dual-threat back, having become one of the key weapons for Josh Grizzard's offense.

Part of a running back tandem with Rachaad White, Irving often sees his carries split with White, while also moonlighting as a receiver at times to ease the pressure on Baker Mayfield.

But against the New York Jets in Week 3, it was the Irving show, as he had 25 rushing attempts for just the second time in his career, for just 66 yards, and it was just the third time in his career he had 20+ carries.

However, is that sort of workload sustainable? Offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard played a straight bat.

“I think each week is determined on how the game's going,” Grizzard said. “He knows if we need him and he goes 25 or if it's 15 or might need to be 30, whatever it takes to get the win that week and then be able to adjust off of that moving forward potentially.”

Will Chris Godwin play vs. Eagles?

Having already practiced this week, things were looking good for the Pro Bowl receiver to make his first start of the season as the Philadelphia Eagles roll into Raymond James Stadium.

But per ESPN's Jenna Laine, just a day after taking to the practice field, Godwin was a DNP on Thursday.

Of course, this could simply be managing his workload for his return, and we even mentioned that Godwin, should he play against the Eagles, might be on a pitch count when it comes to his offensive snaps.

Or, it could be that he pulled up a little sore from practice, and we know the coaching staff was always going to play the slow game with such a prized asset.
