As announced just days after the tragic death of Diogo Jota, Liverpool has paid the player's salary to his family.
Liverpool's Reds have decided to honor the contract of Diogo Jota. Following the striker's death this summer in a road accident, the Merseyside club has transferred the entirety of the player's wages to his family. This was revealed by Arne Slot, head coach of the Reds, in an interview with TNT Sports.

"Owners, like coaches, are mostly criticized, but the way they handled the situation... They paid the entirety of Diogo Jota's contract to his wife and children. Many people might think that's normal, but it isn't," he said.
Diogo Jota still had two years left on his contract with Liverpool.
