Joel Klatt's ranks his top 10 college football teams ahead of Week 5

Joel Klatt released his top 10 CFB rankings after Week 4, and the Georgia Bulldogs went up into the top 3 of the rankings

Fox Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt released his top 10 rankings ahead of Week 5 on on YouTube and he made some major shifts. The Georgia Bulldogs had the most positive shift up, soaring to No. 3 in the rankings.

The Bulldogs were on bye after the shootout 44-41 win over the Tennessee Volunteers. Despite the defense looking concerning, the offense looked incredible. Gunner Stockton stepped up to the moment, throwing deep passes to Colbie Young and London Humphreys to keep up with Tennessee's high flying offense.

The Bulldogs could be the benefactor of circumstance, though. The LSU Tigers dropped all the way from No. 2 to No. 7 in Klatt's rankings. Klatt explains it as the Clemson win losing its luster. Klatt predicted the Clemson Tigers to win the national championship in the preseason, which was partially why he kept the LSU Tigers so high, but now that Clemson is 1-3, LSU doesn't have a very impressive win in hindsight.

Almost every team in Joel Klatt's top 10 has an undefeated record. Texas, the No. 10 team, is the only one who doesn't. They impressed against the Sam Houston State Bearkats, winning 55-0. Arch Manning threw for 209 yards and three touchdowns on 21 attempts. Still, the Longhorns lost to Ohio State (No. 1) in Week 1. As a result of Texas and LSU slipping, Joel Klatt believes Georgia is the best team in the SEC right now.

Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, and Texas make up the four SEC teams in Klatt's rankings. They are tied with the Big Ten for the most teams in the top 10. The Big Ten's Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, and Indiana are also in the top 10. Miami and Florida State from the ACC round out the rankings.
