Jamarion Wilcox arrested and charged with sexual abuse

This stems from an August 20 incident that led to Wilcox being suspended from the Kentucky football team.

Kentucky running back Jamarion Wilcox was arrested on Friday and charged with sexual abuse in the first degree, according to the Lexington Police Department (via BBN Tonight’s Maggie Davis).

This stems from an incident that occurred on August 20, which our own Chris Beasmore wrote about on September 2. The victim of the incident told police that Wilcox was supposed to visit her roommate at their apartment when he entered her bedroom instead, around 1 a.m., without consent. The victim said she was asleep when Wilcox got into her bed and attempted to touch her inappropriately. The victim has since filed a restraining order against Wilcox.

Since the incident occurred, Wilcox, a redshirt sophomore, has not appeared in a game for Kentucky this season. He’s been listed as ‘out’ on SEC injury reports. Head coach Mark Stoops previously announced Wilcox had been suspended for a violation of team rules.

We will update this story if more details come out.
