Masha Slamovich match off TNA special, replaced with Ash By Elegance announcement

Before Slamovich was accused of domestic abuse earlier this week, she was supposed to face the Knockouts champ tonight.

When last night’s Impact Wrestling featured no mention of Masha Slamovich or the TNA Knockouts title match she was supposed to be a part of at Victory Road tonight (Sept. 26), it seemed pretty clear that she wouldn’t be on the streaming special from Canada. And we knew why, as we’d been reporting on the domestic abuse allegations that had been made against Slamovich earlier in the week, and that TNA is in the process of investigating.

It wasn’t a shock, as TNA had already pulled all promotion for Ash By Elegance’s Knockouts defense against Slamovich. Rumors also told us that meant the 28-year-old Russian challenger was out of the WWE NXT invasion program, and this weekend’s Impact tapings.

Now we know what will take the place of Slamovich vs. By Elegance on tonight’s card from Edmonton, Alberta. Well, kinda, anyway…

Knockouts champ Ash (if you didn’t know, she was WWE’s Dana Brooke) will have an announcement, which in wrestling speak often leads to a match or some sort of physicality for the wrestler doing the announcing. Will that be an early defense against her Indi Hartwell, who was supposed to referee tonight after earning a shot at the belt for next month’s big Bound For Glory PPV? Could By Elegance get cut off by a pack of NXT invaders?

Let us know what you think in the comments below.

We’ll have live coverage of Victory Road tonight here at Cageside Seats, and you can order to the show on Triller TV to follow along.
