La Liga are facing fresh demands to investigate racist chanting from crowds at a Spanish top-flight game.
The ugly subject of racist chants, primarily directed at players, has not been out of the headlines in La Liga in recent years.
Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has often found himself at the centre of the storm with the Brazil international targeted by racist opposition fans on several occasions.
The Los Blancos No.7 has been praised for his attitude towards the situation as heโs shone a light on the issue across Spain.
The authorities have taken action in some instances with La Liga working alongside police and the courts to impose fines, stadium bans and in some cases custodial sentences on those found guilty.
The opening weeks of the 2025/26 campaign have not seen too many high profile incidents, but as per footage circulating on social media, Barcelona forward Marcus Rashford was targeted n their midweek win at Real Oviedo.
Rashford โ who is still waiting to score his first La Liga goal at Barcelona โ was replaced on 89 minutes with Hansi Flickโs team going on to win 3-1.
The footage relates to vital chants aimed at Rashford as he prepared to take a corner but there is no official update from La Liga at this stage.

La Liga protocol over racist chants dictates thee stadium tannoy will issue a warning to the crowd before the next step of singling out those involved and removing them from the stadium.
That does not appear to have been followed in this instance with the matter seemingly being flagged up after the game.
La Liga are expected to reach out to Real Oviedo over the matter in the coming days to begin an investigation which will require footage of that area over the Estadio Carlos Tartiere alongside statements from security staff and police.
