The Chiefs head coach was similarly dismissive of any hard feelings.
Travis Kelce and Andy Reid are in agreement: their sideline shouting match wasn't a big deal.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was seen arguing with his head coach in the second quarter of Sunday's 22-9 win over the New York Giants, the Chiefs' first win of a so-far frustrating season. Reid bumped Kelce's shoulder at one point.
Something tells me Andy Reid has given this same shoulder bump to Travis Kelce before, and each time it was to send a very specific message. Consider this the end of it for both of them.

Reid downplayed the incident after the game, praising Kelce's passion and leadership at a time when the Chiefs needed it. A few days later, Kelce returned the love, painting the confrontation as one between two men who understand and push each other.

From The Athletic:
“I love that guy, man. There’s nothing outside of this building that’s gonna make me feel any different way,” Kelce said when asked about the confrontation. “And we know exactly each other’s intentions. I think what Coach Reid does best is he challenges guys to be at their best. And I love that about him. It definitely helped me take my game to another level.”
If all this sounds familiar, it's because something similar played out on an even bigger stage in Super Bowl LVIII. In that game, Kelce and Reid also got it into it and later downplayed the incident, though Kelce did acknowledge some fault in that case.
Kelce and Reid have worked together for more than a decade, a partnership that has yielded three Super Bowl championships and 10 Pro Bowl selections for Kelce.
In both games, the Chiefs were struggling on offense and went on to win the game. Kelce was reportedly optimistic Friday that the team has turned a corner, via The Athletic:
“This team is in a great position right now,” Kelce said. “We’ve got a lot of guys motivated to keep fixing things, and as long as we keep seeing that progression each and every single week, which we have, we know we’re only a few plays away from being 3-0 right now. So we’ve just got to make sure that we’re coming out playing all four quarters.”
If true, it will be a well-timed development as the Chiefs prepare to face the Baltimore Ravens, another 1-2 team with clear Super Bowl aspirations, on Sunday. The winner will be back to .500. The loser will be 1-3, with even more to yell about.
