Another frustrating loss to the Fightin’ Cody Freemans last night for Cleveland, but the Red Sox walked off the Tigers and Mike Trout hit two homers to help the Angels beat the Astros. Magic number for the division is 2, for the playoffs is 1.
The Rangers will apparently start 22 year-old, right-hander Jose Corniell. Coming back from Tommy John, he has 12 innings at Triple-A. He has a great slider and a 93 mph fastball. I didn’t want to see Merrill Kelly, so I’ll take my chances.
Zack Meisel had a Post-game article for the Athletic. The time is now to wrap things up. Ideally, the Guardians win and the Astros win so Detroit is forced to use Skubal on Sunday. But, just find a way to beat the Rangers.
It was a bummer of a game last night. Let’s all forget it… Just like they did June, the 10 game streak, the Ortiz and Clase losses, trading Bieber, the end of August, the Twins series finale, the Fry injury… this group is resilient. Let’s be the same as a fanbase.
