Loan Watch: Barcelona star Ansu Fati on target again for Monaco

The forward netted a late penalty

Ansu Fati grabbed his fourth goal in three games for Monaco on Saturday as the Ligue 1 club slipped to a surprise defeat to Lorient.

The Barcelona loanee has been enjoying himself in recent games for Monaco and netted a penalty deep into stoppage time in a 3-1 defeat for Adi Hutter’s side.

Fati was once again a substitute for Monaco and saw his side go 3-0 down to the Ligue 1 strugglers. He was thrown on with 25 minutes to go and bagged another confidence-boosting goal after sending the goalkeeper the wrong way with a well-struck penalty.

The 22-year-old now has four in three matches for Monaco, after a delayed start to the season, and is pushing for a place in the starting XI.

Monaco will have to shrug off this defeat quickly as they are in Champions League action next week against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The game will be a huge test for Hutter’s side but will see Fati head into the match with his confidence growing after a great start to life in the first team at Monaco.
