UFC Perth video: Jimmy Crute snatches nasty rear-naked choke neck crank to finish Ivan Erslan in first round

Jimmy Crute made his home audience proud after he earned a submission win over Ivan Erslan at UFC Perth

Jimmy Crute might have to come up with a name for his submission after he looked like he was trying to take Ivan Erslan’s head home with him at UFC Perth on Saturday.

Fighting in front of a home audience, Perth wasted no time taking the fight to the ground and he quickly advanced his position to look for the rear-naked choke. But rather than attempting to put his opponent to sleep, Crute effectively pulled up on the choke, pulling Erslan’s head up in a violent motion that forced him to tap out.

The end came at 3:19 in the opening round.

Afterwards, Crute was asked about that rather unique submission that looked more like something out of professional wrestling but he wasn’t ready to give it a nickname just yet.

“I don’t know but I f*cking love it!” Crute said about his unique finish. “I want to go in February, I hear there’s a show in Sydney. Let’s go.”

Following a break in his career that led to nearly two years away, Crute has returned with a renewed focus and energy that has now led him to back-to-back victories.

He finished Marcin Prachno with an armbar submission back in July and now he fought at home in Australia and delivered one of the nastier finishes on the ground in recent history.

Crute hopes to continue his run with his next fight in 2026 but first things first, he’ll enjoy the fruits of his labor with the submission win in the UFC Perth co-main event.
