Colorado jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead, but BYU adjusted on both sides of the ball and Isaiah Glasker’s interception with 50 seconds remaining sealed a 24-21 win at Colorado Saturday night.

The Buffaloes were playing with an edge early on, perhaps remembering the Alamo Bowl blowout, with touchdowns on their first two possessions. BYU got a field goal on its second possession to cut the lead to 14-3 and the Buffs would only score one more time on their next eight possessions.

Freshman Bear Bachmeier looked incredibly poised in just his fourth career game and continued his turnover free streak. Bear showed his legs this game, rushing for 98 yards and passing for 179 yards and two touchdowns. Both touchdown passes were to Chase Roberts. Bear was over 100 rushing yards until the game-ending knees.

Bear came up big in key spots, which included a fourth down touchdown pass to get BYU its first TD of the game, a 16-yard scramble on a third & 16 to set up a fourth down conversion on BYU’s final TD drive, and a 16-yard pass to Chase Roberts with 5 minutes left to on third down to keep the clock moving.

BYU’s defense responded after giving up 137 yards and two TDs on Colorado’s first two drives. CU had eight drives the rest of the night, scoring 1 touchdown and gaining just 154 yards.

BYU moves to 4-0 on the season and heads home for the first time in nearly a month when they host 2-3 West Virginia Friday night in Provo on ESPN.
