A big record broken, followed by a heartfelt message of thanks from the HurriKane.
Bayern Munich number 9 Harry Kane had a fantastic night against Werder Bremen. The Bavarians finished off the visitors with a clean 4-0 victory. Having set a new record to score 100 goals for a club in the shortest span of games(104), Harry Kane took to instagram to share the joy of a momentous occasion in the striker’s career.
A perfect night
A big win, with a clean sheet and the home-fans thoroughly entertained. What more could one ask on a weekend night as a Bayern fan. HK summed it up neatly, acknowledging the team achievement first before any personal milestones. He said “Four goals, clean sheet, three points in the bag. Just a perfect night for us and the performance was top from start to finish, so we can be really happy with that and obviously our form going into next week as well.”
The big record
Its been talked about enough. For anyone who somehow missed it, Harry Kane broke a major record in European football. He is the sole player to reach 100 goals for a club in the top 5 leagues in the shortest span of games. Taking just 104 games to hit the 100 goal club, Kane broke the record previously held jointly by Cristiano Ronaldo for Real Madrid and Erling Haaland for Manchester City. The duo had achieved the feat in 105 games.
On that personal achievement Kane shared the joyous moment with his fans, expressing his happiness and gratitude. “From a personal point of view, 100 goals for Bayern Munich. I’m extremely proud of that. I’m privileged to play for this great club and to do it in record time, 104 games as well. Yeah, for sure, something I’m proud of. It shows all the hard work and dedication pays off” said Kane.
Message of thanks
Kane emphasized the importance of his teammates, the background staff and his inner circle who help him do what does week in week out. That is, being a goal machine. “Obviously, a big thank you to all the teammates, all the staff at Bayern as well who make it possible. Without them, I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing. And as always, friends , family, they are the people behind the scenes that keep me in a good place and, right now, I’m as good as I’ve ever felt” conveyed Kane, in his message of thanks.
Road ahead
The RekordMeister will be heading to Greece for their midweek fixture in the Champions League. With the expanded UCL group stage, clubs will be playing more games and more opponents than in the previous version of the premier European tournament.
Looking forward to the CL night, Kane said “Onto Pafos away on Tuesday night in the CL. Will be another tough game, but we’ll be ready for it. A couple of days of recovery and then travel out there. Look forward to seeing the fans out there in Cyprus and hopefully we can get another great result for you.”
Bayern Munich was the home side in the Bundesliga on Friday when Werder Bremen came to town.
The Bavarians decimated the visitors 4-0 in a game that was never really close. Bayern Munich was relentless and dominant in every aspect of the match. It is not as if Werder Bremen did not try, but the players just could not match up with the machine that was Bayern Munich.
