Another rough Saturday for the BBN
I don’t even know what to say about that game last night.
It started out promising with Kentucky putting up 10 points on its first two offensive drives, but from there, the Wildcats would only score 3 more points the remainder of the game as things completely fell apart.
Cutter Boley was sacked and fumbled, and the Gamecocks returned it for a touchdown and that was followed up by a pick-six on the next drive that completely turned the game around. Boley threw another interception in the second quarter that gave South Carolina a short field and ultimately led to a touchdown and a 28-10 South Carolina lead at halftime.
The second half was mostly uneventful. The Kentucky defense played pretty well for the most part in the second half, giving up just one touchdown but the damage was already done and Kentucky’s offense couldn’t get anything going after that disastrous second quarter.
So, where do we go from here?
Well, things aren’t going to get any easier. The Cats have a date in Athens with a Georgia team that probably isn’t too happy after falling to Alabama last night, the first home loss for the Bulldogs since 2019. The Cats follow that up with games at home against Texas and Tennessee to finish out the month of October.
Maybe Kentucky can pull out a win as an underdog, but right now, reasons for optimism are running low.
