Chiefs-Ravens Inactives: 2 injured Kansas City players sitting out

Kansas City and Baltimore have released their inactive player lists for Sunday’s game.

The Kansas City Chiefs have released their list of inactive players for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

As expected, defensive end Michael Danna (quad) will not play. Neither will cornerback Kristian Fulton (ankle), tight end Jared Wiley, running back Elijah Mitchell, wide receiver Jason Brownlee or offensive lineman Hunter Nourzad. But defensive end Ashton Gillotte (elbow) and defensive tackle Chris Jones will play.

Danna was listed as doubtful in Friday’s final injury report, while Fulton and Gillotte were shown as questionable.

On Saturday, Jones was added to the injury report after he was excused from that day’s team activities for personal reasons. According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jones was in Mississippi on Sunday morning for an aunt’s funeral. He flew back to Kansas City immediately afterwards.

The rest of the Chiefs’ inactive players should be considered healthy scratches for the game.

On Saturday, Kansas City elevated cornerback Kevin Knowles and defensive tackle Brodric Martin from the practice squad to the active roster. As elevated players, they will automatically be returned to the team’s practice squad after the game. Knowles is active for the contest, but Martin is not. It’s possible Martin was elevated in case Jones was unable to make it back to Kansas City on time.

The Ravens have also released their list of inactive players.

As we anticipated, fullback Patrick Ricard (calf) will not dress in Kansas City. Neither will defensive lineman Travis Jones (knee), outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy (hamstring), safety Reuben Lowery III, cornerback Jaire Alexander, running back Keaton Mitchell or tackle Carson Vinson. But left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) and tight end Isaiah Likely (foot) will play.

Ricard was declared out in Friday’s injury report. Jones, Van Noy, Stanley and Likely were listed as questionable for the game.

Two other players were listed as out on Friday: defensive linemen Nnamdi Madubuike (neck) and Broderick Washington (ankle). On Saturday, both were placed on the team’s Reserve/Injured list.

Baltimore then filled its roster spots by activating defensive lineman Brent Urban and tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden from its practice squad. The team also elevated practice squad defensive tackles C.J. Okoye and Josh Tupou for the game against the Chiefs.

All four of these players are active for the game.
