The coach is a happy man
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has shared his thoughts after seeing his team come from behind to beat Real Sociedad 2-1 on Sunday in La Liga.
The hosts went behind in the 31st minute but hit back through goals from Jules Kounde and Robert Lewandowski to take the win.
Barcelona’s winner was set up by returning superstar Lamine Yamal and Flick admitted he was delighted to have the teenager available again after injury.
“It’s great to have him back. Everyone has been able to see how good Lamine is,” he said.
“The whole team has done a great job. We’ve had 68 hours of rest since the last game, and it’s incredible that all the players are giving their all.”
There werealso plenty of kind words for Pedri after another masterclass from the Barcelona midfielder.
“Pedri is special. He’s a great player. He’s getting better at being a leader,” he added.
“He’s a crazy player, very important. When he’s on the pitch, he’s everywhere. He gives us control of the ball and knows what position he needs to be in.
“He’s very good. Together with Frenkie, they’ve organized the team very well. They’re exceptional players and very well connected. They know how they want to play, they know each other… it’s fantastic to see this connection.
“With this partnership, it’s harder to pressure us, and this gives us more possession, creates more space, and that’s the most important thing. I’m very proud of the team.”
