70 is incredible…
With Karl-Heinz Rummenigge celebrating his 70th birthday, some of his Bayern Munich compatriots took time to talk about the supervisory board member.
“It’s a privilege for me to work at a club that has so many great personalities. It’s valuable for me at my stage in my career to have such important advisers. It reminds me of Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United or Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. People like that are very important for a club. It’s very important to absorb as much as possible from these people,” Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl thinks Rummenigge deserves all of the praise being thrown his way.
“Karl-Heinz has shaped football, he deserves all the tributes. We’ve met at one or two negotiating tables before. It was always pleasant. He’s a great who has achieved everything in football. I’ve already congratulated him. Football is only where it’s at today thanks to people like him,” Eberl stated.
