LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – When Arkansas Razorback fans heard the news of the dismissal of head coach Sam Pittman on Sunday, many said they weren’t surprised.
“I knew, after they lost yesterday,” fan Paul Webber said. “That debacle yesterday, it was pretty much over with.”
The announcement was made just one day after the team played a tough game against Notre Dame, losing 56-13.
“I think I’m numb to it, just like a lot of Razorback fans,” fan Owen Roberts said.
While Hog fan Vincent Jackson said, “It’s been, I guess, in traditional Razorback fashion, building us up to let us down.”
Jackson said he grew up wanting to be an Arkansas Razorback himself, and while his team pride is still there, his hope for the season – not so much.
“It’s just trying to reel it in and do damage control more than anything,” Jackson said. “So, hope? No, not really.”
But as offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino steps up as interim coach, these hog fans still cheer on the team they love the most – with a “Go Hogs!”
