The Chelsea board have revealed their stance on potentially sacking head coach Enzo Maresca following the weekend’s disappointing defeat at home to Brighton.
The defeat meant that the Blues suffered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League, following their loss to Manchester United last weekend.
The results have significantly increased the pressure on Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, with fans growing frustrated with the team’s poor performances and some calling for him to be sacked.
However, it has been revealed that Maresca’s position at the club is secure and is set to be reviewed at the end of the season.
Despite the consecutive bad results over the last two weeks, the Chelsea board still believe that they can achieve their season’s targets of finishing in the top four and challenging in cup competitions.
A lot was made out of Eghbali and the sporting directors' visit to the Chelsea dressing room after the game against Brighton, but Maresca has cleared the air surrounding it.

Maresca clears the air about the visit of the sporting directors
The Telegraph quoted Maresca as saying, "We have an office inside the changing room where after every game we sit and talk about the game, but they didn't say anything to the players, it was nothing, completely different compared to the rest of the team."
However, Maresca had a stern message for his squad. "The message that we just said inside has been quite clear: against any team in the Premier League, you cannot continue to give away presents, because what we are doing in this moment is to give away presents in terms of red cards, that is a big mistake because the game completely changed," he declared in his press conference.
Maresca will be hoping that his team learns from their mistakes as they prepare to take on their former manager and his Benfica team in the Champions League on Tuesday.
