A new executive into the mix…
Bayern Munich announced on its website that former VfB Stuttgart executive Rouven Kasper has joined the club:
FC Bayern München has expanded its management team with the appointment of Rouven Kasper as board member for marketing and sales. The 43-year-old sports economist, previously a member of the board at VfB Stuttgart, will take up his post on 1 January 2026. Kasper began his career at global marketing agency Sportfive, where he held various positions. In 2016, he joined FC Bayern, where he was responsible for Asia-Pacific activities as President Asia until 2021.
Herbert Hainer, FC Bayern president and chairman of the supervisory board: “We are delighted to welcome such a strong addition with international experience in a strategically important area. The supervisory board believes that Rouven Kasper is the right choice, both professionally and personally, to help us achieve FC Bayern’s ambitious goals in the areas of marketing and sales, especially as he already knows our club very well. I would like to express my sincere thanks to my colleague Dietmar Allgaier, president and chairman of the supervisory board of VfB Stuttgart, for the constructive and trusting discussions we had.”
Rouven Kasper: “I would like to express my sincere thanks for the trust and productive dialogue with the supervisory board over the past few weeks. I am now very much looking forward to working with my colleagues on the executive board and the entire team. Our common goal is to work tirelessly on the further development of FC Bayern, and I want to contribute to this. This great job is both an honour and an incentive for me. As a team, with reliability and ambition, we must continue to increase our appeal as a top global club with Bavarian roots and, at the same time, lay the foundations for a successful sporting future for FC Bayern through economic growth.”
On Sunday, Kicker (via @iMiaSanMia) produced a report indicating that two clubs were in talks for Kasper:
Negotiations between Bayern and VfB Stuttgart are ongoing over marketing director Rouven Kasper. Both club presidents Herbert Hainer and Dietmar Allgaier are leading the talks. Kasper wants to return to Bayern, where he worked between 2016 and 2021 and was in charge of the Asian market. A move on December 31st is conceivable for all parties. In addition, Bayern would have to pay a compensation fee, as Kasper is under contract at VfB until 2028.
As it turns out, Bayern Munich would not need much longer to close the deal.
Bayern Munich is cruising and heading into another Champions League, so let’s take a look at the factors that have powered the team so far.
Harry Kane has been a beast, the squad is driven, and — by and large — personnel decisions have worked out well. Let’s get into all of that and more on this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works Show. This is what we have on tap:
- Why has Harry Kane been better than ever? (Less need for him to work in build-up, better complimentary players around him — losing Sane and Coman was massive, more aggressive attacking game plan and sometime more direct, truly the focal point
- Is it possible that Harry Kane will stay at Bayern Munich? He is not dismissing the possibility.
- Yes! We avoided a #BayernKaren situation. We are rejoicing this in Philadelphia.
- Tying up some loose ends — let’s check in on Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, João Palhinha, Paul Wanner, Mathys Tel, and Adam Aznou.
