49ers Week 6 matchup against Tampa Bay has been flexed into a different time slot

The 49ers will have a national time slot against the Buccaneers in Week 6

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted the San Francisco 49ers’ Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been flexed by CBS.

The game was initially slated for a 10:00 a.m. PT kickoff when he schedule was released. The new kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. PT. The game will replace the New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints. The other game during that time slot is the Cincinnati Bengals and the Green Bay Packers.

Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ribs) sustained new injuries during Week 4’s matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their statuses are up in the air for Thursday night’s matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. If neither can play, the 10 days in between games could be the difference in the Niners’ top two wide receivers missing multiple games.

That would also be the earliest available game for star tight end George Kittle to return from a Week 1 hamstring injury that landed Kittle on the Injured Reserve. It goes without saying that the 49ers miss Kittle’s abilities in the passing game. Christian McCaffrey has yet to get going on the ground. The 49ers need Kittle to have success on the ground, too.
