There are seven candidates for Poughkeepsie Journal football player of the week for Sept. 25-27. Vote as often as you like until 11 p.m. on Oct. 5.
The Poughkeepsie Journal football player of the week poll is online for Sept. 25-27.
Information was utilized on reports gathered by Varsity 845. Coaches are encouraged to provide their game reports in order for athletes to be chosen; they may also nominate one player from their team by Sunday afternoon.
Winners of each weekly contest will be ineligible for the ensuing two weeks: Connor Drnek of Dover and Jacob Brandeburg of Spackenkill.
Last week, Brandeburg beat Logan Lawrence of John Jay and Delano Rigby of Beacon.

Elijah Epps, Beacon
He had 16 carries for 101 yards and two touchdowns as the Bulldogs beat Wallkill 28-7 on Sept. 26. He added 10 tackles.
Alex Gaugler, Haldane
He had 15 carries for 54 yards, scoring twice, as the Blue Devils bowed to Haldane 28-16 on Sept. 26.
Said Kakish, F.D. Roosevelt
He was 12-for-21 for 102 yards and two touchdown throws as the Presidents fell to Marlboro 19-12 in overtime on Sept. 26.
Logan Lawrence, John Jay
He completed 15 of 23 throws for two scores, adding eight carries for 18 yards, as the Patriots beat Arlington 31-7 on Sept. 26.
Matt Ogana, Dover
He caught touchdown passes of 42 and 18 yards as the Dragons bowed to Chester 28-25 on Sept. 26.
Ryan Rancourt, Arlington
He was 13-for-25 for 186 yards and a touchdown as the Admirals lost to John Jay-East Fishkill 31-7 on Sept. 26.
Brandon Relyea, Spackenkill
He caught a 49-yard touchdown pass as the Spartans bowed to Highland 28-14 on Sept. 26.
