The Dodgers have finished their regular season, which gives us a chance to see how each third of the year went. We already looked at the first 54 games and the middle 54 games. So let’s get into the final 54 games of 2025.
Games | W-L | Run differential | BA/OBP/SLG | wRC+* | ERA | ERA- |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1-54 | 33-21 | 301-237 (+64) | .263/.341/.458 | 124 | 4.05 | 101 |
55-108 | 30-24 | 265-259 (+6) | .247/.320/.427 | 108 | 4.43 | 108 |
109-162 | 30-24 | 259-187 (+72) | .248/.321/.436 | 109 | 3.33 | 80 |
The offense carried a bigger load in the first third of the season then gradual settled into an above-average, yet not dynamic group. Let’s see how the individual players did, first with the catchers.

Will Smith had the normal second-half fade experienced by most catchers, but then got hurt on top of that, and only played in one of the final 23 games. That made for by far the worst third of the season at the plate for the backstops.

Aside from Shohei Ohtani carrying the load, Andy Pages and Will Smith were the only other Dodgers position players with at least a 100 wRC+ in each 54-game stint, but even Pages and Smith were right at 100 in the final third of the season.
Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman had upside-down bell curves with above-average starts and finishes but a squishy, under-performing middle. Teoscar Hernández started out hot but was below average for the final two thirds of the season. Tommy Edman started out above average and then cratered. Both Hernández (groin strain) and Edman (sprained ankle) weren’t the same after suffering injuries early in the season.
Let’s go to the pitching.

The rotation carried the load in the final third of the season, and I enjoyed the symmetry of Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, and Emmet Sheehan each striking out exactly 68 batters over the final 54 games (a 204-strikeout pace). Clayton Kershaw closed out his career at 7-0 in the final third of the season, while no other Dodgers pitcher got more than four wins.
By contrast, the bullpen was quite bad after a strong first third of the season.
