Packers' Ice Bowl focus of Oct. 2 presentation at Manitowoc's Wisconsin Maritime Museum

Packers Hall of Fame Curator Brent Hensel will present 'Frozen Glory: The Story of the Ice Bowl' beginning at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2.

MANITOWOC – Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Curator Brent Hensel will share “Frozen Glory: The Story of the Ice Bowl” in the next Think & Drink at Manitowoc's Wisconsin Maritime Museum.

The program is slated to start at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Bart Starr scores the winning touchdown in the NFL Championship game on Dec. 31, 1967, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. The Packers defeated the Dallas Cowboys 21-17. At minus-13 degrees, with a minus-48 wind chill, the Ice Bowl remains the NFL's coldest game ever.

From the record-breaking subzero temperatures to Bart Starr’s game-winning quarterback sneak, the 1967 NFL Championship Game, known as the Ice Bowl, has become a cornerstone of Packers lore.

“This program promises an engaging mix of history, sports and storytelling that connects Wisconsin’s cultural heritage to the grit and resilience that shaped one of the greatest games ever played,” the museum said in a news release.

Admission is free and open to the public with refreshments available for purchase.

A “Packer Punch!” drink will be featured at a limited bar, which will offer alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Doors and bar open at 6 p.m. The talk and livestream begin at 6:30 p.m. To access the livestream, register at https://forms.gle/UgFK5J5XapmcjFPAA.
