MIAMI GARDENS — Welcome to the Miami Dolphins, Darren Waller.

The veteran tight end caught his first touchdown pass as a member of the Dolphins in the second quarter against the New York Jets on Sept. 29 on "Monday Night Football."

The 4-yard reception on fourth down gave the Dolphins a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter.

He had a pair of receptions for 18 total yards with 4:16 left in the first half.

Who is Darren Waller?

Waller was obtained in a trade with the New York Giants in July, saying he wanted to make a comeback from retirement at age 33. But he hasn’t been seen on the playing field and rarely seen even on the practice field.

He has missed the first three games of the season with a hip injury.

Waller made the Pro Bowl with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020, the second of his back-to-back 1,100-yard receiving seasons.
