The Picklr, one of the fastest-growing pickleball franchises in America, announced this week a new location downtown.
INDIANAPOLIS -- The revitalization of the north Mass Ave. district downtown will get a pickleball infusion with the addition of a massive, indoor club featuring 12 courts, a pro shop and training for players of all skills.
The Picklr, one of the fastest-growing pickleball franchises in the United States, announced this week its newest Indiana location at 1255 Roosevelt Ave. The 32,000-square-foot facility will be located at the former International Paper Warehouse and open in the summer of 2026.
The downtown club will mark the state's fourth The Picklr venue. The company has a 10-court location at 3810 E 82nd St., a 19-court club in Noblesville and will open a club at Grand Park in Westfield in the spring.
The Mass Ave. location is part of a national expansion by The Picklr, which includes more than 500 new clubs planned throughout the country in the next few years.
"Bringing The Picklr to downtown Indianapolis means the community will benefit from the best-in-class indoor pickleball experience offered anywhere," said The Picklr North Mass franchisee owners Ron Brock and Dave Gilreath in a statement.
In addition to 12 courts and a full pro shop, the downtown The Picklr facility has two private community event rooms and a warm up area with state-of-the-art equipment.
The Picklr offers all-inclusive, one-price memberships -- $139 a month for a single and $349 a month for a family with discounts for annual memberships -- for unlimited open play, league play, tournaments and an option to enroll in The Picklr Academy.
The Picklr Academy has classes for all pickleball skill levels, including free training, paid skill-based training and intensive camps for elite players.
The Picklr is part of a growing sports trend sweeping the nation. More than 48.3 million adults played pickleball in the past year, according to The Association of Pickleball Professionals, making it the fastest-growing sport in the U.S for the fourth straight year.
There are 68,458 courts in the United States, USA Pickleball reports, with nearly 20,000 more courts expected by 2026.
