AC Milan showing interest in Barcelona forward with future in question

According to a report from SPORT, AC Milan have started showing serious interest in Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski. 

The Serie A side could make a move for the Polish striker if he decides not to renew his contract beyond 2026 and becomes available on a free transfer next summer.

Milan have reportedly been in contact to assess Lewandowski’s situation. Their sporting director, Igle Tare, is said to have held discussions with the striker’s agent, Pini Zahavi, covering various market options and asking directly about Lewandowski’s plans. 

The Italian club seems eager to get ahead in the market, keen on securing a player who remains a top player in European football.

Lewandowski’s future still uncertain

It must be noted that Lewandowski signed a three-year deal with Barcelona, plus an optional fourth year. He is now in the final year of his contract and is weighing his options carefully. 

The striker believes he can still perform at the highest level next season but remains open to all possibilities.

For now, Lewandowski is happy at Barça and is willing to continue if both his performance and the club’s plans align.

Reports indicate that Lewandowski received lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia this summer, reportedly tripling his current Barcelona salary. 

However, he chose to stay, determined to compete for major titles in Europe. 

Keeping his options open

Looking ahead to 2026, he is keeping his options open, ready to listen to proposals from European clubs or other markets.

Barcelona remains his priority. If the club wants to extend his stay, Lewandowski is reportedly willing to make an economic effort to continue contributing to the Blaugrana project. 

If not, AC Milan and other European clubs could benefit from a striker who still has plenty to offer at the top level. 

While teams from the Middle East may offer eye-watering sums, Milan present a serious option for the Pole if he wishes to remain competing in elite European football.
