The Netherlands native is also the Junior Solheim Cup captain.
European Solheim Cup captain Anna Nordqvist has named Anne van Dam as her third vice captain for the 2026 edition. Van Dam will help lead in her home country, Sept. 11-13, at Bernardus Golf. She joins Sweden's Caroline Hedwall and Mel Reid, who were previously announced.
Born in Arnhem, about an hour from Bernardus, 29-year-old van Dam already has more on her plate than any other vice captain in Solheim Cup history, as she'll also serve as Europe's captain for the Ping Junior Solheim Cup. Next year marks the first time the Junior Solheim Cup will be played on the same course as the main event. The Junior Solheim Cup will take place Sept. 7-8.
“I am honored to have been selected as a vice captain of the 2026 Solheim Cup," said van Dam in a release. "To captain the Ping Junior Solheim Cup and support my good friend Anna Nordqvist in leading Team Europe during the same week, on home soil, will be an incredible experience. The Solheim Cup is one of the greatest events in golf, there is truly nothing like it. This will be my first time serving as a vice captain, and I’m excited to bring the experience I’ve gained from playing in the event, as well as everything I learn from leading the junior team. It’s going to be an unforgettable week.”
Van Dam currently competes on the Ladies European Tour, where she's a five-time winner. She represented the Netherlands at the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games and was part of the victorious 2019 European Solheim Cup team, where she had a 1-3-0 record.
