The Washington Commanders are trying to give themselves some options.

They were just without Terry McLaurin in Week 4 due to injury, and they've added some wide receiver depth this week.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday that the Commanders have signed veteran wideout Robbie Chosen to their practice squad.

Chosen is the WR formerly known as Robbie Anderson.

Chosen (then Anderson) debuted with the New York Jets in 2016. He has played nine seasons in the NFL, also including time with the Panthers, Cardinals and Dolphins.

He spent the past two seasons with Miami. He played nine games (four catches) in 2023 and just two games in 2024 with a single catch for five yards.

In his career, Chosen has played 122 games, caught 380 passes, totaled 5,087 yards and received 30 touchdowns.

The Commanders are likely hoping they can just get healthy and don't have to use Chosen.

But he might still have a bit of speed left. He made some plays in August in the preseason for the San Francisco 49ers.

In a pinch, Chosen could get another NFL chance.

The Commanders will certainly be crossing their fingers that McLaurin (and QB Jayden Daniels) is back soon enough to not worry about the bottom parts of the depth chart.
