Caicedo Gets 7.5, Fernandez With 7 | Chelsea Players Rated In Narrow Win Vs Benfica

Chelsea entertained Benfica at Stamford Bridge earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a good result at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Blues made a decent start to the game as they scored the opening goal in the 18th minute due to an unfortunate own goal from Richard Rios. Enzo Maresca’s men managed to get to the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Joao Pedro was sent off by the referee, but Chelsea hung on to secure a narrow 1-0 win in front of their home fans.

LB: Marc Cucurella – 7/10

He didn’t do much wrong defensively and made two good chances in the opponent’s half.

CM: Facundo Buonanotte – 6.5/10

Buonanotte performed his defensive duties well but lacked quality in the final third.

CM: Moises Caicedo – 7.5/10

He anchored the midfield with conviction and managed to engineer a couple of inviting chances in the Benfica half.

Fernandez put in a tireless shift defensively and was good on the ball.
