SBN Reacts: Which Remaining Game on Mizzou’s Schedule is the Toughest?

At 5-0, Missouri comes in ranked No. 19 in the latest AP Top 25 poll and is one of 20 undefeated teams remaining in the country.

And it’s probably a good time for the Tigers’ bye week to get well rested before their schedule heats up. With seven games remaining in the regular season, Mizzou faces four teams that are currently ranked down the stretch — two at home and two on the road.

There are opportunities ahead for Missouri to make their case as a College Football Playoff team — and it all starts next Saturday at home against No. 10 Alabama. After their season-opening loss to Florida State, Kalen Deboer’s program coming off a statement win in Athens to snap Georgia’s 33-game home winning streak. The Crimson Tide might not be so vulnerable after all.

At No. 16 Vanderbilt, No. 6 Texas A&M and at No. 5 Oklahoma loom for the Tigers as well — who are a combined 13-0 on the season.

We might have thought Mizzou had a “manageable” SEC schedule, but that might not be the case now. From Sam Snelling’s pourover:

Before the season I think most looked at Mizzou’s schedule as being favorable, but you never know how things shake out each season until you play it out. Mississippi State looks a lot better than most expected, Arkansas looks a lot worse, Auburn can’t score on offense, Vanderbilt looks like a machine, and OU and A&M look like playoff level teams. And now Alabama is back to being Alabama.

Everything is still on the table for this Mizzou team as Nathan Hurst will write later, but the road doesn’t get any easier. That’s life in the SEC.
