⚽BOYS SOCCER
Burrillville 2, Middletown 0
Burrillville boys soccer is off to an outstanding start this season.
The Broncos sit atop Division III at 7-1 and added to that win total with a 2-0 triumph against Middletown on Tuesday night. Ethan Withington delivered the first goal on a penalty kick with 25 minutes left in the first half.
And just two minutes later, the senior added the insurance tally after a give-and-go with Sam Hernandez. Withington dropped possession off to Hernandez in the midfield and the senior sent the thru ball for an easy breakaway score.
Burrillville has just two championships in its history – Small Division champions in 1996-97. It’s too early to declare the Broncos the league favorites, but they’re playing well this year.
