The Golden State Warriors are signing free-agent guard Seth Curry to a one-year deal, a league source confirmed Tuesday to the Chronicle. Curry is the younger brother of Golden State star guard Stephen Curry and also one of the NBA's top 3-point shooters.
Splash Siblings, perhaps?
The younger Curry, 35, played last season for the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 6.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 15.6 minutes in 68 games. He led the league in 3-point accuracy, shooting 45.6% from deep to better his career clip of 43.3% - seventh in NBA history.
A 12th-year guard standing 6-foot-1, Curry has also played for the Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Memphis Grizzlies. He holds career averages of 10 points, 2 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
He's shot better than 40% from 3-point range in all but one season, 2023-24.
ESPN first reported the agreement, a non-guaranteed Exhibit 9 deal that allows Curry to participate in training camp, a league source confirmed. He'll likely be waived when camp concludes, but it's possible for him to re-sign with the Warriors during the season when they have the appropriate salary space to sign him to a prorated minimum.
