The sixth set of Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings of the season has been released, with St. John Bosco Braves for the third straight week in a row sitting atop at No. 1, respectively. Right behind St. John Bosco is a slight switch up, with IMG Academy (Fla.) followed by Grayson Rams (Ga.).

Who else cracks the latest set of national high school football composite Top 25 rankings this week?

Below are the top-25 teams in the Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings, a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected media and data companies. It includes Massey, MaxPreps, ESPN and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced ranking.

1. St. John Bosco Braves (Calif.)

For the third consecutive week in a row, the St. John Bosco Braves (5-0) are the No. 1 team in the land according to the Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings. The Braves have been nothing less than impressive through the first few weeks of the season, with impressive wins along the way over St. Frances Academy (Md.) and St. Louis (HI), respectively. Texas A&M commit Madden Williams has been terrific for St. John Bosco this season, catching 13 passes for 331 yards and four touchdowns. Looking at the landscape of high school football around the country, if St. John Bosco and Mater Dei can head into their Halloween meeting both inside of the Top 5, the game would certainly hold national championship implications. The Braves are coming off a bye week, but return to play this Friday against JSerra Catholic.

2. IMG Academy Ascenders (Fla.)

The IMG Academy (5-0) have been the most dominant, consistent football program out of the Sunshine State, as every week becomes another example of the program’s dominance. The Ascenders have now played five quality programs this high school football season with their regular season opener against Hoover (Ala.) then beating Winslow Township (N.J.), Coronado (Nevada), Mandarin (Fla.) and Phenix City Central (Ala.), winning each game by at least 21 or more points. IMG Academy received a huge performance through the air in their latest win from 2028 No. 1 player Jayden Wade, who completed all 11 passes for 350 yards and four touchdowns. The Ascenders makes their final road trip of the season and by far the shortest as they head south down Interstate 75 to face Venice (Fla.).

3. Grayson Rams (Ga.)

Grayson (5-0) has weathered the storm on offense without the services of senior quarterback Travis Burgess (North Carolina commit), who a few weeks ago announced he would be out for the remainder of the 2025 high school football season due to injury. All the Rams have gone out and done is win important games against regional powers like Alabama’s Thompson and a 63-13 rout of Mallard Creek (N.C.). Junior signal caller Deuce Smith has taken the controls of the offense for Grayson and has played admirably behind center. The Rams had another ho hum win, this time a 50-3 victory over Newton last week. Now Grayson gears up for a short travel over to face Heritage.

4. St. Frances Academy Panthers (Md.)

St. Frances Academy (2-1) was arguably the most impressive team after the first major weekend of high school football, as they cruised to a 42-13 thrashing of Chaminade-Madonna Prep (Fla) at the Broward County Classic. The Panthers’ lone loss this season so far came when they traveled across the country to take on No. 1 St. John Bosco and narrowly lost in a 21-14 decision.

The loss previously dropped St. Frances Academy down four spots to No. 6. St. Frances Academy bounced back with a 34-26 win over previously nationally ranked St. Joseph’s Prep School (0-3), who has also lost to American Heritage (Fla.) and DeMatha Catholic (Md.), respectively. The Panthers return this Friday when they host The First Academy (Fla.) in Baltimore.

5. Bishop Gorman Gaels (Nev.)

Bishop Gorman (5-1) were the team that stood the most to gain last week on the national scene as they took on Santa Margarita Catholic (Calif.) on the road and passed the test with a defensive masterpiece.

The Gaels was able to come away with a 14-0 win over the Eagles, bouncing back from their lone loss of the season against Mater Dei (Calif.). Hawaii commitment Maika Eugenio has been terrific on the offensive side of the ball, throwing for 1,516 yards and 16 touchdowns on the season.

It is a forgone conclusion that the Gaels are destined to win another Nevada state championship, but that’s not the ultimate goal for this program as they continue to remain in the national picture. Bishop Gorman returns to play against Nevada opponents on Friday night at Fertitta Field when they take on Palo Verde (3-3).

6. Mater Dei Monarchs (Calif.)

Mater Dei (4-1) made up for their surprising loss to Corona Centennial and bounced back in a huge way when they defeated a previously undefeated Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas a week and a half ago. The win for the Monarchs showed a lot of grit for a program that needed to overcome some adversity from the previous week.

The Monarchs this season has edged out St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) at the Broward County High School Football Classic down in Fort Lauderdale, pulling off a 26-23 victory to start the 2025 season. The Monarchs had to do it again a couple weeks ago in a 21-18 win over Kahuku (Hawaii). Raul Lara’s group didn’t have a game a few weeks ago due to Bishop Montgomery canceling their scheduled matchup due to a lack of eligible players. Mater Dei are coming off a bye week, getting some rest and this Friday host an always dangerous Orange Lutheran squad.

7. Buford Wolves (Ga.)

Buford’s (5-0) has had arguably one of the most impressive starts of any Georgia team this 2025 high school football season because of the programs they’ve faced.

First up to start the season was a meeting with No. 18 Milton, with the Wolves coming away with a 20-13 victory on national television. The Wolves then hit the road to Savannah to face a very good Benedictine Military School squad and won by multiple scores. The 65-21 rout of Roswell a few weeks ago leaves many wondering if Buford could be the team to beat for Georgia’s Class 6A state championship when it’s all said and done.

The Wolves last win was a 71-7 thrashing of Discovery and this Friday night take on a talented Collins Hill team.

8. Southlake Carroll Dragons (TX)

The Lone Star State went from having two teams, Duncanville and North Crowley, inside of the top 10 nationally, done to one. Yes, that’s the Southlake Carroll Dragons (5-0), which has played the most impressively and consistently of any team out of Texas.

The Dragons last week added another blowout win under their proverbial belts, cruising past Timber Creek in a 55-13 decision. Southlake Carroll’s next opponent is a home date against Keller (3-3).

Ohio State commit Brock Boyd broke a 20-year old receiving yardage all-time record and now sits along as Southlake Carroll’s leader with 3,304 and counting. Pittsburgh commit Angelo Renda this season has completed 88 of 117 (75 percent) passes for 1,404 yards and 15 touchdowns.

9. Sierra Canyon Trailblazers (Calif.)

The third team out of the great state of California in the latest Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings are the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers (5-0).

This program’s most recent win was the most impressive of them all, making an impression on everyone nationally to the dominance of Sierra Canyon and being a potential threat to St. John Bosco and Mater Dei when it comes to the state’s Open Division title.

Senior quarterback Laird Finkel has been the steady hand behind center, throwing for over 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns this fall. Leading the team defensively is senior EDGE Mikhal Johnson, who has a team-high four sacks.

Recently bullying a very good Orange Lutheran team in a 41-9 victory earned Sierra Canyon and bouquet of flowers and then some. Next time the Trailblazers take the field is Friday night against Junipero Serra.

10. Centennial Huskies (Calif.)

Rounding out the Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings’ Top 10 once again are the Centennial Huskies (4-1), which most recent win was a 42-7 romp of Rancho Cucamonga. The Huskies are optimistic about their chances of competing for the CIF’s Open Division state championship because of the myriad of talent they possess on the defensive line.

Both senior three-star linebacker Jonathan McKinley (Cal commit) and junior defensive lineman Miles Schirmer, who has overtures from programs like Notre DameTexasWashington and USC, lead a very talented front seven. On offense, Boise State three-star tight end commit Keawe Browne(11 catches, 196 yards) leads a potent passing attack.

The Huskies are back in action this Friday night against Roosevelt (3-2).
