Vaunted Javonte: 3 things Cowboys must carryover from Packers tie to Jets Week 5 matchup

The play of Dak Prescott and Javonte Williams, plus the better playmaking from the defense, are positives the Cowboys can take into Week 5

The Dallas Cowboys became the first team in NFL history to score 40 points in a home game and have no turnovers without winning. The Packers were able to tie the game with Dallas with no time left in overtime on a field goal. Dallas might have the worst defense in the league, but they currently boast the best offense, led by Dak Prescott, so they have some positive momentum to carry forward into their contest against the New York Jets.

Dak has to continue to be the best QB in the NFC

The Cowboys quarterback, Prescott, has been playing the best ball of his career this season. He leads the league in passing yards and is third in completion percentage. The record of Dallas doesn't reflect their quarterbacks' play. He was unbelievable against the Packers' defense. Every time the Green Bay offense scored, Prescott brought the Dallas offense back with a response. His play against pressure shows the level of play Prescott is at. He was 12 out of 14 for 162 yards and a touchdown.

Keep using Javonte Williams as a workhorse

Javonte Williams is the gift that keeps on giving for the Cowboys. He was their first signing of the free agency period, and he has lived up to that spot. He had 23 touches versus the Packers for 100 yards and a touchdown. His production all season has been better than anyone could've expected. Bijan Robinson is on the Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry tier of running backs, but Williams has a better success rate percentage, yards per rush average, and more touchdowns than Robinson. He has earned as many touches as the team requires of him.

The defense needs to continue to make plays behind the line of scrimmage

The Dallas defense struggled against Green Bay. Giving up 40 points is never a sign of a high-quality defense, but this might have been their best performance since opening night against the Philadelphia Eagles. The team finally made plays behind the line of scrimmage. They had the significant strip-sack fumble by James Houston, but added four QB hits and six tackles for a loss. Pressures, playing behind the line of scrimmage, and turnovers must continue in Week 5.
