Igor Tudor has no doubts about Jonathan David’s abilities, has given an update on his midfield selection and has spoken about Juventus’s lack of time to prepare for their Champions League match against Villarreal on Wednesday evening.

Juventus will take on the Yellow Submarine at 20.00 BST on Wednesday evening, following their thrilling 4-4 draw with Borussia Dortmund last time out in the Champions League.

Tudor has opted to start summer signing David in attack, over his other options in Lois Openda and Dusan Vlahovic.

“He’s doing very well, he’s focussed and has this quality where he always seems to be on the ball. I’m sure he’ll do well today,” Tudor told Sky Sport Italia ahead of kick-off.

David will be supported by Kenan Yildiz, plus a midfield department that contains Teun Koopmeiners, Weston McKennie and Manuel Locatelli.

Tudor gave a clear response when asked which of those midfielders will be the most advanced on Wednesday night: “Koopmeiners.”

On Locatelli, he added: “He’s doing well. He’ll be the captain in a Champions League match against a very valued opponent.”

And on the lack of time that Juventus have had to prepare for tonight’s game, Tudor said: “We’ve worked on everything, as much as we can do in one or two training sessions.”
