VfB Stuttgart aim to continue their good form on Thursday by getting their second Europa League victory at Swiss side Basel.

Stuttgart have won their last three games in all competitions, including a 2-1 over Celta Vigo in their European opener, and coach Sebastian Hoeness said they now have "a huge opportunity to put us into a really good position.

Hoeness said that some 7,000 travelling fans will give the German Cup winners an additional push.

"These are the games we wanted. That is what we wished for - having these international experiences again this year. Those are nights you have trained for for years," Hoeness said.

Basel lost their opener 2-1 at the other German club, Freiburg, but Hoeness warned that they play "technically skilled football" and that his players must not let the Swiss league and cup winners "get into their flow."

Basel are trained by Ludovic Magnin, a former Stuttgart player who won the 2007 Bundesliga title with them.
