The Carr name has left quite the impact on the Saline (Mich.) football program. Midway through his senior season, quarterback Tommy Carr is making his presence felt.
The younger brother of Notre Dame QB CJ Carr, Tommy has led Saline to a 5-0 start this fall. The Hornets are now averaging over 48 points per game. Carr, of course, has been terrorizing opposing defenses.
He took to X on Wednesday to showcase his midseason stats. Through five games, Carr has thrown for 1,209 yards and 18 touchdowns to just two interceptions. He’s completed 91 of 114 pass attempts, good for an 80-percent clip.
That’s once again propelled Saline toward the top of the Michigan high school football rankings. The Hornets are now the No. 9 team in the state, according to the Massey Ratings.
Their season-opening win was the most important of the year so far. Heading to No. 4 Rockford, Carr threw for three touchdowns as the Hornets bested the Rams 37-28. That’s currently the lone loss of the season for the state-title hopeful.
A few weeks ago, Carr put together a record-setting performance in a 61-34 win over Dexter. Throwing for over 500 yards, Carr unbelievably totaled nine touchdowns, eight of which came through the air. The nine scores leaves him third all-time for total touchdowns for a single game in the MHSAA record books.
Saline is set to return to action this week against 3-2 Huron. A massive top-10 clash against Harper Woods will go down next week on Oct. 10. The Hornets are currently favored to finish the regular season undefeated, per the Massey Ratings.
Back in February, Carr committed to Miami (OH). He remains the top-ranked commit in the Redhawks’ 2026 class. Carr is the No. 961 overall prospect, No. 56 QB and No. 18 player in Michigan in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies.
