Barcelona manager Hansi Flick felt his team were tired as they suffered their first defeat of the season to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The hosts went ahead in the first half through Ferran Torres but were pegged back and then conceded a late goal to slump to a 2-1 reverse.
Here’s what Flick had to say about the game after the final whistle.
“We played much better in the first half than in the second. We conceded too much because we were tired. The truth is that PSG is a great team; they have very young and fast players, and they played a fantastic game,” he told the media.
“We didn’t play at our best, and against an opponent like that, it’s necessary. They deserved to win.
“I think Pedri and Frenkie have played a lot of minutes. It’s important that they’re fresh, but the important thing is the team.”
Barcelona will now return to action against Sevilla in La Liga at the weekend before domestic action pauses once more for another international break.
