Ravens ready for offensive 'challenge' without Lamar Jackson

It's Rush time.

Ravens ready for offensive 'challenge' without Lamar Jackson originally appeared on The Sporting News

The Baltimore Ravens are one of the best offenses in football with Lamar Jackson under center, but now that the AFC North champs will be without No. 8 for the next two to three weeks, it will be the Cooper Rush show.

With the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Rams up next before the bye, we are already in a critical part of the season for Baltimore, and without its two-time MVP winner to help orchestrate things, it's going to be tough sledding.

But it's something that Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews is ready for.

“That's a challenge,” Andrews said of being without Lamar. “Obviously, the type of player and leader that Lamar is and how much he means to us. The beautiful thing is that we've got a lot of fighters in this group and a deep organization with a ton of players that are going to step up and make plays, and I just got a lot of faith and trust in the guys.”

When will Lamar Jackson return?

Everything that we are hearing right now is two to three weeks via the Baltimore Sun, but Jackson, if he heals up quickly, could see the field against the Rams.

Now, would that be wise with a bye coming after? Probably not, so the Ravens could give Jackson a full three weeks to get his hamstring right, because, given the type of player he is, Jackson needs his legs to scramble and pick up big chunk plays on the ground.

It will be interesting to see how the Ravens manage their franchise star, but one thing they won't do is rush him back. With two games and then their bye week, it's a good bet that we won't see No. 8 until Week 8 against the Chicago Bears.
