Here are 5 storylines that are likely to unfold ahead of the Jets' Week 5 clash with the Cowboys.
The New York Jets are turning to the next page of their 2025 NFL season.
In Week 5, the Jets (0-4) will welcome the Dallas Cowboys (1-2-1) to MetLife Stadium.
There were a lot of changes that went down in New York this offseason. We're starting to see the results of those decisions and the outcome against the Cowboys will reveal even more.
But before we even get to kickoff, there will be a lot of Jets-related discussions and conversations to be had throughout the coming days.
With that, here are five storylines to watch for during the lead up to Jets against the Cowboys:
Can the bleeding stop?
It's Week 5. Aaron Glenn is still looking for his first win as a NFL head coach in New York. Until that is accomplished, it's going to be discussed every week and the Cowboys will be no easy test.
Two massive markets
Perhaps locally this will not be much of a headline in New York or Dallas. It's just another game week. However, this matchup could get some extra coverage and juice nationally this week just because of the markets... and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
A lot of passing talk
Passing should be a hot topic of discussion in both camps this week. It's well known that the Cowboys like to air it out with quarterback Dak Prescott. He has two games with more than 300 yards passing already this year. On top of that, George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb are two premier NFL receivers at his disposal, however, Lamb might not play because of injury.
The Jets' aerial attack with Justin Fields at quarterback has been the opposite. However, Dallas has the 32nd ranked passing defense in the league. This is the time for Fields to show he can sling it.
New player in?
Jarvis Brownlee Jr. was traded for but did not play last week because of a previous ankle injury. He started preparations for the Cowboys as a limited participant in practice. Could we see our first dose of the cornerback against Dallas?
Just Breece
It appears running back Braelon Allen (knee) is going to miss time. He is getting a second opinion on a knee injury that Glenn called "pretty serious."
That will put all the eyes on Brecce Hall coming out of the Jets' backfield. He has to handle the load so the offense can hopefully become a two-dimensional unit.
