Jauan Jennings injury: What status means for Week 5 vs. Rams

Jauan Jennings is dealing with multiple injuries for Week 5. We break down what it means for fantasy football decisions.

The 49ers travel to the Rams on Thursday Night Football in Week 5 and they come into this game as 7-point underdogs, a line that has moved due to all of the injuries to the San Francisco offense this week.

Jennings can’t seem to stay healthy, as he picks up a new injury each week. In Week 1 he suffered a shoulder injury. In Week 2 it was an ankle injury. He was unable to play in Week 3 and then suffered a rib injury in Week 4. The man is going through it right now. When healthy(ish) he’s been good, but at this point we have to wonder when or if he’ll be actually stay on the field.

Jauan Jennings injury updates

Jennings has been officially ruled out for Thursday’s matchup against the Rams. Brock Purdy and Ricky Pearsall will also miss the contest, so it is yet another brutal week of injuries to star players for the Niners.

Fantasy football analysis

With so many moving parts, it is difficult to assess how all of these injuries effect the fantasy value of those who actually play. Jennings’ upside would’ve been high if he were good to go, especially if he played while Pearsall sat with his knee injury. With both guys out, I’d probably take a flier on Kendrick Bourne if needed, with Demarcus Robinson close behind.
