There is still a lot to like about the Packers this year.
As disappointing as the last two weeks have been, it’s worth remembering just how close to undefeated the Packers actually are. You could change as few as two plays (the blocked field goal against the Browns and the blocked PAT against the Cowboys) and dramatically alter the Packers’ record.
The point is, they still have the makings of a very good team. I won’t go so far as to say they are a good team — or that they’re a bad team, for that matter — but they could become one if they sort out a few of their issues and continue to maximize what’s going well for them so far.
And there are things going well! Micah Parsons has been exactly as advertised, and it’s possible that he could be even more dangerous as Jeff Hafley continues to explore different ways to use him. The offense, too, has had plenty of excellent moments, and I think everyone would agree that unit is far from a finished product. Two preferred starters on the offensive line are still out, as are Jayden Reed and Christian Watson. That’s quite a bit of talent still to be added back into the lineup, and quite a lot of potential that could still be unlocked.
There is still a lot of growth possible for this Packers team. Yes, the last two weeks have been disappointing. There’s no way to spin it otherwise. But nobody’s giving out trophies in September. The Packers just have to keep growing.
Micah Parsons has been everything the Packers could have asked for, and probably more | Packers Wire
Parsons has been as expected so far this year, and probably could be even better post-bye.
Parsons has played more or less as a traditional edge so far this year, but might be even more impactful if Hafley moves him around.
