Fortuna Düsseldorf will host Nürnberg in a clash of teams trying to correct their false start to the season. Meanwhile, SC Paderborn could momentarily climb to the top of the standings with a win away at Braunschweig.

Fortuna Düsseldorf vs. 1. FC Nürnberg

It wasn’t pretty, but Fortuna Düsseldorf secured their third straight win on the road last week against Bochum. However, Daniel Thioune’s side is yet to even score in front of their supporters this season. There were lots of protests in the most recent defeat to Darmstadt (0-3).

Meanwhile, Nürnberg lost by the same scoreline at home against Hertha Berlin last week. Following their first win of the season against Bochum, Der Club failed to keep their momentum as they suffered a fifth league defeat of the campaign.

Ten goals were shared between the sides in their last season’s meetings with both ending in draws. The visitors will hope to end a four-game winless streak against Thioune’s red and white army.

Team News

Fortuna confirmed new signing Julian Hettwer will be absent for at least a month due to a meniscus tear injury. Nürnberg’s Adam Markhiev was subbed off in the first-half against the club from the capital city, but he’s expected to return to full fitness for Saturday’s game.

Predicted Lineups

Düsseldorf: Kastenmeier ©; Lunddal, Daland, Oberdorf, Heyer; El Azzouzi; Alexandropoulos, Breithaupt, Muslija, Iyoha; Itten

Eintracht Braunschweig vs. SC Paderborn

Braunschweig took four points from Paderborn last season, although they ended up finishing 20 points fewer than the fourth-placed team. Heiner Backhaus had Braunschweig dreaming with a couple of wins at the start of this term, but they have only picked up a single point ever since.

In contrast, Paderborn won each of their last three games, including a 2-0 victory to end Kaiserslautern's impressive run last time out. Filip Bilbija missed a penalty-kick in that one before scoring his fourth goal in all competitions.

Team News

Center-backs Lukas Frenkert and Frederik Jäkel are the only Braunschweig players currently on the sidelines. Marcel Hoffmeier and Raphael Obermair will be absent from Paderborn’s traveling squad.

Predicted Lineups

Braunschweig: Hoffmann; Ehlers, Köhler ©, Breunig; Aydin, Flick, Marie, Bell Bell; Heußer; Yardimci, Conteh

Paderborn: Seimen; Hansen, Scheller, Brackelmann; Curda, Castaneda, Baur, Müller; Bilbija, Tigges, Klaas ©
