Kayden Allen, a four-star shooting guard in the 2026 class, has committed to Cincinnati, he told Rivals.

The 6-foot-5 senior out of Long Island Lutheran (NY) ultimately chose the Bearcats over Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, and Cal, but also received offers from UCF, Mississippi State, and Florida State.

Allen, a native of Lilburn, Georgia, is ranked as the No. 55 overall player in the class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’s also the No. 12 ranked shooting guard. Rivals’ evaluators are slightly higher on him, ranking him 50th nationally.

Allen on his commitment to Cincinnati

Kayden Allen went in-depth on why he chose Cincy with Rivals.

“I chose Cincinnati because of how the whole staff made me feel like a priority. I could tell they care about me as a person and it’s a family/brotherhood. On my visit they made me feel comfortable in trusting their system and development. Also coach Wes (Miller) has been the head coach most in contact with which means a lot.”

What led to his trust in the coaching staff?

“Coach (Chad) Dollar. Me and him have a good relationship. I’ve known him since I was a freshmen and we have beyond basketball relationship.”

In his own words, what type of player is Cincinnati getting in Allen?

“I’d say I’m an elite scorer. I play at my own pace and won’t get sped up or ever look uncomfortable. And I make unselfish plays when needed which is an underrated part of my game.”

He has message for Cincy fans.

“I’m looking forward to this year and the team. And I feel like my commitment and me coming will definitely be a continuation of what they are going to do this year. I’m ready to work and turn the city when I get there. And bring trophies back to Cincy.”

Rivals’ Jamie Shaw evaluated Allen this summer and had this to say about his game:

Kayden Allen has a feel for putting the ball in the basket. He has a sturdy frame with great length. He needs to continue working through his balance points, getting his shot trajectory more consistent.

…he gets to his spots, especially in the mid range. Allen’s shot can flatten out the further away he gets from the basket, and it has a tendency to stick with him, but when he gets rolling he is capable of putting numbers on the board.
