As first reported by Wolverine Wire’s Isaiah Hole and confirmed by Maize n Brew, wide receiver Fredrick Moore is no longer with the Michigan Wolverines’ football program.

Moore was a three-star recruit, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, in the 2023 class. He played in 13 games (eight on offense) as a true freshman and 13 games as a sophomore last year. In total, he caught 13 passes for 142 yards and one touchdown during his time in Ann Arbor, with his lone touchdown being one of the best plays of the game in the ReliaQuest Bowl against Alabama.

He was anticipated to be one of Michigan’s starting wide receivers this year. However, it was redshirt freshman Channing Goodwin that got the start in Week 1 against New Mexico, which was a bit of a surprise given how Moore ended the 2024 season and how highly talked about he was in the offseason.

“Fred attacked the offseason like a man with something to prove,” position coach Ron Bellamy said in August. “He really focused on improving his deep routes and tracking the ball on those long throws. He’s not content to be just a complementary piece anymore — he wants to be a primary weapon.”

All in all, Moore only played 18 offensive snaps in four games before deciding to leave the program. Since he only played in four games, he will be able to preserve his redshirt status and have two seasons of eligibility left wherever he lands next.

As we do with all players that decide to leave Michigan, we wish Moore nothing but the best moving forward and hope he is able to land somewhere he can showcase his talents.
