The Chargers are bringing back OL Sam Mustipher who spent the majority of the 2024 season in LA.
On Thursday afternoon, the Chargers brought back a familiar face in offensive lineman Sam Mustipher. The former Notre Dame lineman spent most of the 2024 season with the Chargers after starting his career with the Chicago Bears. After spending four years there, he signed with the Ravens in 2023 and has since had stints with the Broncos, Bolts, and Titans.
Mustipher can help fill multiple roles up front with the Chargers as he has experience at both guard sports and at center. That versatility is likely what helped him land back with a team needing reinforcements up front while both star offensive tackles are currently sidelined and Mekhi Becton still working his way back from the concussion protocol.
In a corresponding move, the Chargers are releasing rookie center Josh Kaltenberger from the practice squad.
Kaltenberger joined the Chargers this year after going undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Maryland (one year) and Purdue (four).
